Freescale Smartbook
Based on iMX5 & ThunderSoft Millos
Trying to merge the best of Smartphone and notebook solutions, ThunderSoft Linux solution is running on a 7-inch touch screen Freescale tablet reference design called ‘Smartbook‘ at CES 2010.
The Smartbook is designed to offer the capability of full connectivity and whole day battery life, which is usually only could be provided by Smartphone, to support popular online activities including social media, high-quality audio/video playback and light gaming fully comparable with a notebook.
ThunderSoft based Linux is running on the device, incorporating Wi-Fi and Bluetooth wireless connectivity, as well as a 3D desktop framework with touch screen/QWERTY keyboard support. 3G modem and RF4CE protocol options are also available. The applications are: Firefox web browser and multimedia plug-ins, media center, PDF and image viewers, mail client, an RSS reader, office suite, and various widgets from Google Gadget for Twitter, Facebook, Flickr, Weather SMS etc.
